JEROME J VERDIER, SR

ATTORNEY AND COUNSELLOR -AT- LAW

Jerome Verdier, born in Zorzor, Lofa County, Liberia, is an experienced lawyer with over a quarter of a century of experience and a lifelong advocate for human rights and justice. His commitment to public service is evident in his tenure as the Chairman of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Liberia (TRC) from 2006 to 2010, where he was selected for his strong public advocacy for good governance and human rights. In the private sector, Verdier is the Founder and Lead Counsel of the Law Offices of Verdier & Associates, Inc.

His educational background is impressive, beginning with a BBA in Accountancy and Economics from the University of Liberia (1984-1988), followed by an LLB from the Louis Arthur Grimes School of Law at the University of Liberia (1989-1998), where his legal education was interrupted by the war. He later earned an LLM from Cornell University in Ithaca, NY, in 2012.

Currently, Jerome Verdier serves as the Founder and Executive Director of the International Justice Group (IJG), a position he has held since 2019. On the personal front, he is married and a proud father of five children—two boys and three girls.

 

Cde Chairman Mustapha: Mustapha N. Kanneh, Executive Director of the Liberia Democracy Watch (LDW) is a former Liberian student leader and erstwhile Chairman of the Student Unification Party (SUP) and now the Executive Director of the Liberia Democracy Watch (LDW), a pro-democracy institution, which advocated peace negotiations, robustly engaged into civic education, human rights awareness and protection programs that saw the translation of the Liberian Constitution into a simple English version, leading up to the 1997 elections and beyond when it became the lone and mainstay institution that led public-policy advocacy and research throughout the length and breadth of Liberia.

Kanneh, who has a long history of service as a youth and student leader, brings immense energy, ideas, passion and experience to the LDW. Having served as a Press Bureau Analyst at the Liberia National Students’ Union; Spokesperson, Secretary-General and subsequently Chairman of the Student Unification Party (SUP) at the University of Liberia thus leading the FIX THE UNIVERSITY DEBATE, and also led the FIX THE COUNTRY CAMPAIGN Protest on July 26th A.D 2022, demanding good governance, economic revitalization, social justice, ending impunity amidst secret and extrajudicial killings, human right abuse and rampant corruption during the Weah’s era; Mustapha combines his experience in advocacy from a youth and student perspective with a new pathway to the National platform through advancing advocacies that aim at strengthening the governance system of our country and protection of Liberia’s d
