LIBERIA DEMOCRACY WATCH (LDW)
Liberia Democracy Watch (LDW), a pro-democracy institution, now a subsidiary of INTERNATIONAL JUSTICE GROUP (IJG) has been a prodemocracy advocacy organization for many years past which advocated peace negotiations, robustly engaged into civic education, human rights awareness and protection programs that saw the translation of the Liberian Constitution into a simple English version, leading up to the 1997 elections and beyond when it became the lone and mainstay institution that led public-policy advocacy and research throughout the length and breadth of Liberia.
The Organization is instituted to advocating prodemocracy actions and advocacy initiatives throughout the length and breadth of Liberia and as an institutional member of the GREATER DEMOCRACY PROJECT (GDP), will support the grassroot initiatives to institutionalize democracy from the neighborhood’s levels to the communities; from communities to districts; from districts to counties and from counties throughout the entire nation.
The program framework of the LDW focusses on:
Civic education and awareness
Human rights awareness and advocacy
Good Governance awareness, education and advocacy
Constitutional awareness and education
Justice and equal rights advocacy
Rule of Law advocacy and awareness
Governmental Reform and advocacy in the Executive and Legislative Branches
Establishing democracy clubs in all high schools in the country
